In the IB PYP curriculum, teachers and learners are international-minded. Why and how?

Now, for the people who are not familiar with the IB curriculum, it's a tiny explanation.

In the IB PYP curriculum, we teachers and students are flowing in a similar way like any others. It means if any teacher is teaching in any country he or she is able to follow up the same principles of IB. We all are working and learning in a global community and students are also connected with global teachers and learners.

There is no way for racism here. All the teachers and students respect each other's culture, beliefs, and values. Children are learning about their own culture along with other cultures.

Students and teachers can fit any other place if they are having IB PYP experience.

We believe, “An internationally-minded person is open-minded about the common humanity of all people and accepts and respects other cultures and beliefs. The internationally-minded person takes action through discussion and collaboration to help build a better and peaceful world.”

The teachers of IB PYP, we always think about a sustainable future. We focus on how can we teach the learners to be better people so that they can contribute to a better future in this world.

Many of our learners connect with global issues like Syria, Afganisthan, or Rohinga issues with the unit where they learn about conflict and resolutions. Its amaze me sometimes when they come up with different proposal to solve the conflict. Hope we could have passed that to the world leaders! You as a teacher can experience that if you have worked or working with a global community.

I love the way teachers and learners grow as open-minded people in IB. In my perspective, we the teachers and students are actually trying our part to be international- mindedness and make a world with peace and happiness.
